Welcome to LDS Organist

This web site is designed to help LDS organists and others serving in music callings. Much of the music can be downloaded and printed for home and church use but is copyrighted material. All other uses such as commercial recordings or performance require permission. A few of the pieces here are available for purchase at Day Murray Music in Murray, Utah http://www.daymurraymusic.com

While this site is dedicated mainly to serve organists, there are pieces for many different uses. Piano solos, Organ solos, Vocal Duets, Original songs and arrangements for choir and piano, and Choir and Organ.

In addition, several alternate accompaniments for organ of favorite LDS hymns are included. These have been used in Stake Conference and Sacrament meetings to lift and add inspiration to congregational singing. The congregation sings the melody in unison, while the organ provides an simple alternate accompaniment.

All organ pieces are written in three staves with a separate pedal part shown. These pieces will only be fully realized when played correctly with hands and feet at the organ.

Please visit this site often as we are always adding new music. The site is very simple in operation. You may search the music by category or type (called tags) or by title. Some of the music is also available with a demo recording so you may get an idea of how the piece sounds.

27 November 2015 - Christmas

While we continue to work on our new website, we hope to remind you of our Christmas offerings. Our most popular download is "The Nativity Song" : a SATB arrangement of this favorite primary Christmas song. We also have one original Christmas Carol, "Hosanna To Our King" , a SATB arrangement of an old favorite "Out of the East" (available only via purchase) and several organ accompaniments for congregational singing.

We have two fully arranged (All Verses) alternate organ versions of "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Silent Night" intended for congregational singing.

We also offer an alternate organ accompaniment for the last verse of "Joy To The World" .

Much more is in the works so please check back in the future.

1 Aug 2015 - New Emphasis on Sabbath Day Observance

After careful consideration and study of the new emphasis on "Sabbath Day Observance" we are planning a substantial expansion of the resources posted here. Music can be a very important part of Sabbath Worship for many and our thoughtful preparation to lift and inspire can invite the Spirit into our meetings in a powerful way.

We welcome suggestions for new arrangements, and other resources you may wish to have us work on. Please email at the link above.
